Chick Peas is rich in protein.So,every week I use to make anything dishes using this chick peas.Its a very yummy gravy which I like most. A delicious, creamy chickpea and potato curry, full of flavor and so simple.
Ingredients :
Potato - 4
Chickpeas - 1 cup (cooked)
Onion - 1 (medium size)
Tomato - 1 (medium size)
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1/2 tbsp
Few curry leaves
Few coriander leaves
Paste ingredients:
Shreded coconut - 1/2 cup
Garlic flakes - 3
Ginger - 1" piece
Green chilli - 2
Preparation :
Soak the chickpeas for over night and cook till they turn soft. Finely chop the onion, tomato and keep aside.
Peel the potatoes and cut into 2" cubes.
Make a paste with paste ingredients.
Take a deep pan and heat with oil, fry potato light brown.
In the same oil add mustard seeds and curry leaves, then add chopped onions and saute for 5 mins.
Now add tomatoes and salt, saute till they turn into juicy.
Add the ground paste and saute till the raw smell disappears or the oil separates from the mixture, then add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cubed potatoes and cooked chickpeas, combine well and add a cup of water, cook on medium low flame till the potatoes become tender.
Finally garnish with coriander leaves and remove from flame.
Serve hot with roti or paratha.
