Pepper - Cumin Cookies

              When i planned to bake Butter biscuits for our parents during my vacation, i had to bake something low fat for my dad. Searching for recipe i landed with sharmis blog.Ingredients are always available in your pantry so they are super easy to make and perfect snack for coffee or tea.



               I took the basic recipe from Sharmis passions...thanks sharmi. The change i made to this recipe is adding some butter for crispness,using only 1/2 cup of Wheat flour and added a pinch of ajwain.This bake was very special as everytime my parents cook and send us something...it was the other way round with me :)

Ingredients:

All purpose flour / Maida                  -        1-1/2 cups
Wheat flour / Aata                            -        1/2 cup
Cumin seeds                                    -        1-1/2 tablespoon
Pepper powder(Ground Coarse)          -        1-1/4 teaspoon
Sugar                                               -        1-1/2 teaspoon
Baking soda                                      -        1/4 teaspoon
Salt                                                  -        As needed
Unsalted Butter                                 -        1-1/2 tablespoon
Milk(At room temperature)                 -        To knead
Ajwain                                              -        1/4 teaspoon

Method:

  • Pre-heat the oven to 200'C for 10 minutes.
  • Mix All purpose flour,Wheat flour,Cumin,Pepper,Sugar,Baking soda,Salt,Ajwain,Butter to a bowl and mix well.
  • Add milk little by little to the mixture and knead to form a dough(like chappati dough).
  • Roll the dough to 2mm thickness.
  • Cut them using cookie cutter.Repeat the process until dough gets over.
  • Arrange the cookies on the baking tray with parchment paper. Bake them for 20 minutes or until the cookies get light brown colour.
  • Cool them and store in a airtight container.


Mix All purpose flour,Wheat flour,Cumin,Pepper,Sugar,Baking soda,Salt,Ajwain,Butter to a bowl and mix well.

Note:
  • Refrigerate dough for half-n-hour atleast so that the ingredients are set before baking. i ran out of time so i could not do that while baking these sets.
