Almond-Oats porridge powder

I came up with this idea when i wanted my daughter to enjoy her breakfast. Everyday ragi porridge made her boaring and it was not easy to handle 8 month old that way. Now my daughter is 13 months, still she enjoys this breakfast. sometimes this goes for her lunch or dinner.

Plain oats porridge is healthy and filling but when i had to input something to change the taste and also healthy....i felt this was the best option. i always suggest to ask your pediatrician before introducing certain food especially if your baby is between 6-12 months old. oats create gastric troubles just like pulses.

Its not easy to find different food for babies or kids but making some changes to the regular one makes a great difference.

Ingredients:

Plain whole grain oats - 1 cup (i used Quaker oats and always check for rolled oats in the ingredient column)
Almonds - 10 to 15 no's.

Method:
  1. Grind the almonds with skin to rough powder.
  2. Now add the oats and grind it together to the required texture.( if your baby is 6-12 months old then we should make a fine powder).
  3. Store this in a air tight container.
  4. you can use 1 to 1-1/2 tablespoon for a serving.

Grind the almonds with skin to rough powder

We can make this to fine consistency too if this is for babies between 6-12 months who cannot chew.

Now add the oats and grind with the almond powder to the required texture.(Make that to fine powder if this is to be served for babies between 6-12 months who cannot chew)

Store them in a air tight container.

How to cook this to porridge?

Take about 1 tablespoon of this powder and add mix with 1/4 cup of water or milk. cook on the stove top for a minute. Add a pinch of salt / sugar if needed.
